Okada Man Arrested After Failed Attempt To Kidnap Pupils On Way To School

A motorcycle rider identified as Awaliu Yunusa has been nabbed by the policemen for attempting to abduct two siblings in Alubarika street in the Bariga area of Lagos State.
Reports stated that the okada man flee with 3-year-old twin brothers, Joseph and Joel Osinaike leaving their mother behind on their way to school.
It was learnt that the twin brothers and their mother were at the bus stop to get a motorbike before Yunusa stopped to pick the siblings and their mother but surprisingly, Yunusa reportedly zoomed off with the pupils leaving the mother behind.
He was apprehended in the process, beaten to stupor by angry residents before the intervention of the policemen from the Bariga police station 
An eyewitness who gave an account of what happened to newsmen said, “Normally, I open shop around 9am, but that day, I came to pick something I forgot in the shop the previous day.
“After I had picked the item, I saw a woman (the twins’ mother) crying and running after a speeding motorcycle, which carried two kids in uniform.
“I sensed that the kids must have been abducted. I quickly shut my shop and begged some okada riders to help to chase him.
“When he observed that they had almost caught up with him, he left the road and headed towards Alubarika Street. The riders continued chasing him until he was caught.”
The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, SP Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the case is under investigation.”
